UAS Laboratories, Inc. entered into an agreement with Valensa and Parry Nutraceuticals to launch Probiogreen™, a new product combining DDS Probiotics with Parry organic spirulina. The new product, Probiogreen,™ combines the health benefits of proven DDS® probiotics and high quality spirulina. Tests with Spirulina and Lactobacillus showed that Spirulina can stimulate the growth of Lactobacillus.  Probiogreen will be available as a finished product or as a raw material that can be added to food products or other multiple-ingredient supplements.  Possible applications include, supplement powders, smoothie mixes, beverages, and supplements.  The recommended dosage of the product is 500 mg of DDS® probiotics (5 billion CFU/gram) and 500 mg of Spirulina.  The dose is contained in ¼  teaspoon (1 gm).  Many green formula products use up to 4 teaspoons of ingredients. 

Parry spirulina has received GRAS status for its Arthrospira platensis which is produced in accordance with cGMP and is certified organic by USDA NOP, Naturland-Germany, Ecocert-France, OCIA-IFOAM standards.  Spriulina, a microscopic acquatic organism, has a long history of human consumption as nature’s most powerful “green food” with over 60% protein content.  It is used as a nutraceutical ingredient with a unique combination of phytonutrients like phycocyanin, carotenes, xanthophylls, GLA, essential fatty acids, vitamin B12, chlorophyll and minerals.  The health benefits are widely researched and show promise in many age-related health conditions like age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), type 2 diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, neurodegenerative disorders and cardiovascular disease.
