Bionov’s CELLULIGHT® was named Most Innovative Ingredient of the Nutraceutical Business & Technology (NBT) Awards 2013, organized in partnership with Vitafoods Europe. The winners were announced on May 15 at a gala dinner at the Starling Geneva hotel.

Bionov received recognition for its innovative solution, CELLULIGHT, at Vitafoods Europe, which took place at the Palexpo Geneva May 14 to 16, 2013. The NBT Awards recognize excellence in R&D, marketing, business and technology throughout the nutraceutical, functional food and beverage industry.

Developed by Bionov and already awarded at the Health Ingredient Europe (HIE) show 2012 in Frankfurt, CELLULIGHT is the first 100 percent natural ingredient that offers an oral beauty solution for cellulite. CELLULIGHT is a natural melon juice concentrate (Cucumis melo L.) rich in SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD). Considering consumers’ huge expectations and the scientific evidence of SOD efficacy against cellulite, Bionov’s innovative approach was to find technical solutions to fundamental barriers—animal-origin SOD and absence of scientific evidence against cellulite by oral route—in order to propose an effective ingredient in the health nutrition market.
