Deerland Enzymes debuts DE111 probiotic at SSW

Because of the spore-forming ability of Bacillus subtilis, DE111 remains viable under a wide temperature range and doesn’t require refrigeration.

Deerland Enzymes, a leading international enzyme and probiotic-based dietary supplement formulator and contract manufacturer, presented its latest clinically studied probiotic strain, DE111™, at SupplySide West.

Dr. John Deaton, vice president of technology, presented to a standing-room-only audience of show attendees on the benefits of adding a spore forming probiotic strain to complement non-spore strains when formulating a probiotic supplement for digestive and immune health. Deaton went on to explain the genome sequencing and clinical results of Deerland Enzymes’ particular strain of the probiotic spore, Bacillus subtilis.

“DE111 is a classic Bacillus subtilis strain that supports the normal proliferation of beneficial bacteria and crowds out other bacteria in the gut,” said Dr. Deaton. “Bacillus subtilis has the ability to form spores that protect the microbes from harsh conditions until they enter a more favorable environment, such as the GI tract,” he explained. “Because of this spore-forming ability, DE111 remains viable under a wide temperature range and doesn’t require refrigeration,” Deaton added.

Dr. Deaton’s presentation generated a great amount of excitement among the attendees, prompting many to visit Deerland Enzymes’ booth to obtain more information about DE111.

For those who were not able to attend the show, the presentation will be available by webinar on request. For more information, contact Deerland Enzymes at 800.697.8179 or [email protected]
