We caught up with mother-daughter duo Jasmine Byrne and Kimberly Chamberland of Big Mountain Foods at Expo West to hear more about the brand’s latest NEXTY winning product and what comes next for this plant-based brand.

Big Mountain Foods had a lot to celebrate at Natural Products Expo West this year. For starters, the brand was basking in its second NEXTY Award in as many Natural Product Expos (the first was at Expo East in 2021), this time for its Lion’s Mane Mushroom Crumble, a plant-based product whose ingredient and flavor profile blew the NEXTY judging panel away. The mother-daughter led brand was also celebrating its new membership in the Upcycled Food Association, as well as laying out the groundwork for new product lines that can help make the most of the okara left over from its Chickpea Tofu production.
