Unless you are a new mom or know a new mom, lactation likely isn't on your radar. But a growing number of brands are launching new offerings for ladies to help boost milk production for newborns.

These new products—which are more often than not labeled a supplement rather than a food and beverage—feature cleaned up ingredients and herbal add-ins such as fennel seed, fenugreek seed and blessed thistle. Foodie ingredients like oats, flax seeds and brewer's yeast (also called galactagogues, or foods that increases milk) are incorporated into seriously tasty snacks, such as chocolate chip cookies.

Being a new parent is tough. These products can help make it a little easier.
