Andalou Naturals achieves Non-GMO Project verification

Natural skin and hair care company is the first personal care brand to achieve Non-GMO Project verification for its entire product line.

Andalou Naturals, premier manufacturer of natural skin care and hair care, has joined forces with the Non-GMO Project to become the first complete personal care brand to achieve Non-GMO Project verification for its entire product line. The Non-GMO Project offers North America's only third-party verification and labeling for non-GMO (genetically modified organism) food and products.

Founded by natural product pioneers Stacey Kelly Egide and Mark A. Egide , Andalou Naturals launched nationwide with Whole Foods Market in March 2011, with innovative fruit stem cell science-based skin and hair care, and has experienced vertical growth with natural trendsetting retailers including Pharmaca, Sprouts, Earth Fare and Vitamin Cottage.

According to SPINS 2012 report, sales of Non-GMO Project verified products have surpassed $2 billion dollars annually. "It's the fastest growing label in the natural products industry," said Megan Westgate, executive director at the Non-GMO Project, "Go into any natural foods store, any product category, any shelf, and you'll find the label with the orange butterfly. This has really just happened in the last couple of years and it's continuing to grow exponentially," Westgate added.
