TORONTO, Oct. 12 /CNW/ - Responding to the increased demand for natural health products and organic foods, the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) - Canada's leading trade association for the natural products sector - will be hosting its annual Expo East Conference & Trade Show in Toronto from October 13 - 16, 2005.
The Conference & Trade Show is being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Front Street. It will bring together retailers, wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers in the natural products sector to learn, network, and source new products.
"Well over 80 per cent of Canadians use natural health and other self-care products as a safe, low-cost alternative to prescription drugs," says Valerie Bell, president, CHFA. "Now more than ever, there is a need to
educate our members and provide them with the resources they need to maximize their natural and organic businesses. This will ensure consumers have access to high-quality natural health and organic products."
The four-day event will include workshops - including a full-day program on Thursday October 13th on health and beauty aids - panel discussions and educational seminars on important topics, and a weekend Trade Show featuring
approximately 400 exhibitors and 600 booths over 60,000 square feet. Expo East will also feature new products on the natural health and organic market and provide an opportunity for industry professionals to share best practices. A news conference will also be held on Friday October 14th at 11:00 a.m. in Room 203B at the Convention Centre to announce results of a new study on the scope of the natural health products sector in Canada.
The Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) is a non-profit federally chartered trade association. Its 1,300 members include retailers, wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers, consultants and other associations that are
