Ethical Naturals of San Anselmo, California, has completed its PCT patent application filing process for its ORAC-15,000 natural antioxidant from grapes. The PCT filing encompasses more than 100 countries, including the EU. The technology is now being applied to the production of a new Standardized Fruit Blend. Last year ENI filed patent applications for ORAC-15,000 in China and the US. ORAC-15,000 is designed to add a defined level of antioxidant activity to a wide variety of products. At 15,000 units per gram, three times the ORAC value of pure vitamin C, a dose level of 350mg meets the USDA daily recommendation of 3,000-to-5,000 ORAC units. This makes ORAC-15,000 one of the highest known ORAC value ingredients available from natural sources.
