Deerland Enzymes launches PrefixPro prebiotic

Deerland Enzymes launches PrefixPro prebiotic
PrefixPro is not fiber or starch based, and requires a significantly smaller dosage and shorter time period to be effective.

Deerland Enzymes, an international enzyme-based dietary supplement formulator and contract manufacturer, has announced the release of the company’s latest product, PrefixPro™ (patent pending). This innovative and novel prebiotic is formulated to promote a healthy digestive tract by stimulating the growth of beneficial probiotic organisms, without the drawbacks of typical prebiotics.

The launch of PrefixPro was at the center of Deerland Enzymes’ message at the recent SupplySide West show in Las Vegas. “PrefixPro is yet another step in Deerland Enzymes’ ongoing commitment to developing science-backed technologies,” said Scott Ravech, CEO of Deerland Enzymes. Ravech continues, “The addition of PrefixPro enables us to provide our customers with an ingredient that can enhance and expand the performance of their digestive formulations.”

A proliferation of harmful bacteria in the gut can rob the body of the essential nutrients it needs by consuming those nutrients that the body would normally absorb. Deerland Enzymes Vice President of Technology Dr. John Deaton explains, “In many cases, good bacteria have a difficult time displacing the unwanted bacteria and require help; this is where prebiotics come into play.” Deaton adds, “When paired with a probiotic, the prebiotic provides for the release of nutrients in the gut that support the growth of the beneficial probiotic bacteria.”

Typical fiber or starch-based prebiotics have shown to be effective in some cases, but come with several drawbacks. Unlike typical prebiotics, PrefixPro is not fiber or starch based, and requires a significantly smaller dosage and shorter time period to be effective. This unique prebiotic works in both the small and large intestine and is not sensitive to specific environmental conditions of the gut. An added benefit, the fermentation of this prebiotic does not cause flatulence as typical prebiotics have been known to do. Dr. Deaton’s presentation of the product at SupplySide West included the supporting results of several tests performed both in-vitro and in-vivo.

PrefixPro works with a broad spectrum of probiotic organisms, making it a valuable addition to many different probiotic supplements currently available.
