Idebenone is a synthetic analog of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), a powerful antioxidant. Used mainly in the supplement industry, studies show Idebenone performs better than CoQ10 under certain conditions. Research has shown that under low oxygen conditions, such as in a heart attack or stroke, Idebenone prevents free radical damage and maintains relatively normal cell ATP levels. While Idebenone effectively performs the same positive and essential functions as CoQ10, it does not possess the negative effects present in CoQ10 under hypoxic (low O2) conditions. Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like substance found in animal connective tissue, synovial fluid and the vitreous humor of eyes. It is a natural, long-chain polysaccharide composed of disaccharide units of glucuronic acid and N-acetyl glucosamine. Sodium Hyaluronate is a water-soluble powder.
Theobromine belongs to a class of alkaloids called methylxanthines. It is now of interest as a supplement for energy and for weight-loss. Methylxanthines are synthesized or extracted from as many as 60 different plant species. Methylxanthines include caffeine (the primary methlyxanthine in coffee) and theophylline (in tea). Theobromine is the primary methylxanthine found in products of the cocoa tree, Theobroma cacao (the source for chocolate). Theobromine is also present in small amounts in green coffee beans, tea and mate. Theobromine affects humans similarly to caffeine, but is somewhat milder. Theobromine is mildly diuretic (increases urine production), is a mild stimulant and relaxes the smooth muscles of the bronchi in the lungs.
