Allendale, NJ, January 24, 2006 – Lonza will host a seminar presented by Dr. William J. Kraemer at the Natural Products Expo West tradeshow on March 25th in Anaheim, California. Dr. Kraemer, a professor at the University of Connecticut, will highlight the novel benefits of L-Carnitine supplementation related to enhanced recovery from exercise. The seminar, entitled, “L-Carnipure® L-Carnitine – Its Role in Exercise and Recovery”, will be presented on Saturday, March 25th at 1:00pm in Room 205B of the Anaheim Convention Center.
The seminar aims to educate participants on the basic function of L-Carnipure® L-Carnitine and its role in human physiology, how L-Carnipure® L-Carnitine supplementation helps with exercise performance and how it supports the body’s physiology in recovery from exercise and physical stress. Dr. Kraemer will present new clinical findings on how lower doses of L-Carnipure® L-Tartrate are effective in producing the same positive effects on recovery as observed in an earlier trial. L-Carnipure® is a high-quality line of L-Carnitine products manufactured by Lonza. Due to a unique patented manufacturing process, Lonza is the only manufacturer that offers 100% pure L-Carnitine. The L-Carnipure® logo is a sign of this quality assurance.
Discovered 100 years ago, L-Carnitine is a vitamin-like substance that occurs naturally in the human body. L-Carnitine is considered to be a “conditionally essential” nutrient meaning that, under certain conditions, the body’s manufacturing capacity may not be sufficient to meet its requirements. Its physiological role centers on the generation of energy from long chain fatty acids. Hence, L-Carnitine is frequently referred to as the “energy nutrient”. Recently, it has been demonstrated that consuming additional L-Carnipure® L-Carnitine can further promote fat breakdown, thereby enhancing energy production.
Dr. William J. Kraemer is a professor in the Department of Kinesiology working in the Human Performance Laboratory at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. He also holds an appointment as a professor in the Department of Physiology and Neurobiology along with an appointment as Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center/School of Medicine. Dr. Kraemer is a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine.
