60 Million Consumers, France’s leading consumer testing organization tested 18 hair dyes currently sold in Europe and the US for performance and safety.
The hair colors studied in this April, 2011 report were well-know mass market brands and three natural brands including Herbatint.
Herbatint was not only judged fully acceptable for long-lasting natural color—it was the only one of the 18 that received an acceptable safety rating.
Using the standards of the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (CSSC) of the European Union, each product was evaluated for: potential irritation, sensitization, mutagenic risks, and carcinogen and reproductive toxins.
Based on toxicological profiles, Herbatint was the only one of the eighteen hair dyes, including two other natural products, judged acceptable because it uses very few potentially sensitizing or toxic substances.
“This is extremely gratifying to us,” says Pierce Sioussat, President of Bioforce USA, the US distributor for Herbatint. “For years we have been saying that Herbatint has the lowest levels of chemicals necessary to achieve beautiful permanent hair color. To have that confirmed by such a creditable, unsolicited testing source certainly increases the weight of our message.”
