To Help Retailers Meet the Needs of Information-Hungry Shoppers, Healthnotes Launches Version 7.7 of Kiosk Software and Web Products

Version 7.7 includes new and expanded content, updated staff training, and enhanced Category Management Report

PORTLAND, Ore.-September 4, 2003-Healthnotes Inc. (HNI) today announced the release of Version 7.7 of Healthnotes® Retail Solutions, which includes both touchscreen kiosk and Web applications that offer shoppers healthy living information at the point of decision-in-store and online.

Version 7.7 includes new and expanded content-including more than 60 new articles covering the hot topics of Weight Control and Sports & Fitness, an updated staff training program, and an enhanced Category Management Report. In addition, the Healthnotes Healthy Living and Healthnotes Pharmacy kiosk products feature a new, simplified main screen with user instructions, and nine targeted Health Centers to help shoppers find relevant information more quickly.

Previews of Version 7.7 will take place at Natural Products Expo East, booth #3753, and GMDC's 2003 HBC Marketing Conference. The new products will be available to customers at the end of September.

Department-specific applications offer "content in context"

Healthnotes Retail Solutions includes five department-specific applications for touchscreen kiosks and the Web. Each product has touch points (buttons) customized to the department, allowing the retailer to choose which product to display based on the location of the kiosk in-store or section of the Web site where the information is featured. This allows retailers to place multiple kiosks in their stores, or content in multiple sections of their site, offering "content in context" with a consistent user experience.

As part of the kiosk software, the Category Management Report (CMR) tracks customer use and creates a report outlining the most popular topic areas and products queried. New to Version 7.7, the CMR now includes coverage of the Weight Control and Sports & Fitness categories, providing customer interest data on these popular product categories. Retailers can use the CMR to better understand their shoppers' needs, more effectively merchandise products, and run targeted promotions.

To help retailers make the most of Healthnotes kiosks in their stores, the staff training section of the kiosk software has been updated and expanded. It includes a product tour and offers more tips and tools on using Healthnotes to enhance customer service and increase sales.

Version 7.7 of Healthnotes Retail Solutions will start shipping to customers late September 2003. Pricing varies depending on the quantity of software subscriptions or Web licenses purchased. Kiosk hardware is also available through HNI at an additional charge.
