Los Angeles, CA, April 16, 2004 – Jarrow Formulas, Inc., a nutrition industry pioneer headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, announces the hiring of Kevin M. Connolly, Ph.D as its Technical Writer.
His responsibilities include, but are not limited to, writing product literature and journal articles, evaluating scientific literature/data for potential new products, arranging for laboratory studies and patent searches.
Previously, Dr. Connolly did a Postdoctoral Fellowship at University California, Los Angeles (UCLA). For 2 years he researched pathways involved in bacterial pathogenicity. During graduate school, he spent 7 years as a Research Associate at UCLA, studying conjugative transposition and antibiotic resistance. Prior to that, Dr. Connolly worked 2 years at the United States Surgical Corp. as a Research Associate.
While working at United States Surgical Corp., he developed bioactive polymers and plastics for medical devices. Dr. Connolly developed a plastic bone substitute and a method for synthesizing proteins with unnatural amino acids in bacteria (i.e., for making human collagen in bacteria), for which he owns two patents.
Dr. Connolly obtained his BA in Anthropology from Brown University in 1994 and his Ph.D from UCLA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2002.
“One of my strengths is in research, which should help in our product development efforts,” says Connolly. “Jarrow Formulas is known for its innovation and I hope to contribute in that area.”
