MegaFood™, the only purveyor of premium artisan whole food supplements, announced today that it is issuing a voluntary product recall for four lots of its Essentials™ Joint Strength formula. During routine testing, the company found that the levels of chondroitin sulfate were lower than those stated on the packaging label. The error was quickly traced back to one supplier, who has since been eliminated from MegaFood’s approved vendor list.
“MegaFood’s reputation and success is built on our rigid quality control standards and commitment to excellence,” says Carl Jackson, president of MegaFood. “While the packaging error on these particular lots of Essentials Joint Strength do not pose any health hazards for consumers, the voluntary recall reflects our total dedication to providing customers with the highest, premium quality products.”
All retailers who carry the product in question are being notified. Consumers, members of the industry, the press and other concerned parties may email questions to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 1-800-848-2542, ext. 204.
