TORONTO, Jan. 26 /CNW/ - In response to research that shows that
Canadians are actively seeking out products with added nutritional value in
order to make healthy eating easier for them, Minute Maid Canada, the
country's leading supplier of premium fruit juices, has launched new Minute
Maid(R) Fruit Solutions(TM). Minute Maid(R) Fruit Solutions(TM) are great
tasting, 100 per cent juice blends with no sugar added, two full servings of
fruit, three grams of protein and six essential vitamins and minerals per
250 mL glass.
The Minute Maid(R) Fruit Solutions(TM) Survey(*), conducted for Minute
Maid in October 2005 by Maritz Research, confirmed the company's belief that
the demand for products that make good nutritional choices simple is still
increasing. When asked, almost three-quarters (71 per cent) of Canadians said
they look for products with added nutrients that help them get the daily
nutrition they need and 60% said they want to see more products with added
nutrients on the market. Interestingly, the demand for products with added
nutrients increases to 72 per cent in those 18-29 years of age.

The Minute Maid(R) Fruit Solutions(TM) Survey showed that when buying
juice, Canadians are looking first and foremost for Vitamin C (63%) and for a
product that helps them achieve their daily recommended serving of fruits and
vegetables (49%). One in three (38%) also want essential nutrients in their
Minute Maid(R) Fruit Solutions(TM) are an excellent source of vitamin C
and folic acid and a good source of vitamin B1, potassium and magnesium, plus
a source of iron. A healthy diet containing foods high in potassium and low in
sodium may reduce the risk of high blood pressure, while a healthy diet rich
