Natural Products Expo Asia 2010: Create Opportunities to Build Connections and Tap Opportunities in Asia

HONG KONG (January XX, 2010) — As Asia’s exclusive and leading expo for natural, organic and healthy products, the eighth annual Natural Products Expo Asia (, produced by New Hope Natural Media, a division of Penton Media, will take place at Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Center, Hong Kong, from August 26 - 28, 2010. The trade show is expected to attract a record number of exhibitors and attendees, reflecting the continued growth of the natural market across the region.

In the aftermath of several large-scale food scares and concerns of aging populations, the expo helps respond to the industry’s growing demand for natural and organic products, as well as the application of healthy ingredients. Nutrition Business Journal estimates, total global nutrition industry sales increased 8% to $270 billion in 2008, and sales are expected to rise another 6% to 10% this year. In China, the domestic supplement market grew 9.3% to $8.1 billion in 2008.

The 2010 show is expected to attract more than 400 exhibiting companies from Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Taiwan and the USA. New products pavilions are formed to meet the needs of the expected 12,000 buyers from more than 30 countries in locating the hottest products. Major products zones include Green Living Pavilion, Foods & Beverages Pavilion, Beauty Pavilion, Supplement Pavilion and Supply Pavilion.

New in 2010 during the last day of the expo a portion of the show floor will open to the public. This will give exhibitors a valuable opportunity to have direct interaction with end-users and enhance consumer awareness of their brands. A public forum will be held to accommodate the increased demand for health tips, new products and natural therapy.

The second annual Nutracon Asia, a two-day conference held on 26-27 August 2010, will again be co-located with Natural Products Expo Asia. Last year’s event attracted over 300 industry members and experts who will again gather for seminars and workshops held for senior executives in dietary supplement, functional food & beverage, personal care products and retail industry. The trade show will also offer attendees opportunities for networking and intimate exchanges of ideas.
