New Enfamil(R) ProSobee(R) LIPIL(R) With DHA And ARA Now Available

Enfamil Will Offer Most Extensive Line of Formulas with DHA and ARA

EVANSVILLE, Ind., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- New Enfamil(R) ProSobee(R) LIPIL(R) infant formula starts shipping today to retailers nationwide, making it the first soy formula available with the nutrients DHA and ARA. These two nutrients are important building blocks of a baby's brain and eyes and are found naturally in breast milk. With the addition of ProSobee LIPIL, Mead Johnson Nutritionals will offer the most complete line of formulas containing DHA and ARA. LIPIL is Enfamil's unique blend of DHA and ARA. Only Enfamil LIPIL infant formula contains DHA and ARA at the levels clinically shown to benefit mental and visual development.

"Nearly one-quarter of formula fed infants are fed soy formulas," said Jon Vanderhoof, MD, Vice President of Global Medical Affairs for Mead Johnson Nutritionals. "We firmly believe in the developmental benefits of DHA and ARA, which is why we have made it a priority to offer formulas that contain these nutrients."

Doctors may recommend a soy formula if they believe an infant should avoid milk protein and/or lactose (milk sugar). Some mothers also choose to feed their infants a soy formula if they prefer a formula without cow's milk protein. In addition to containing DHA and ARA, Enfamil ProSobee LIPIL differs from most other soy formulas in that it contains no table sugar.

Enfamil ProSobee LIPIL is now available. Consumers can visit or call 1-800-BABY-123 for assistance in locating Enfamil ProSobee LIPIL at a store in their area.
