NSF International, a global public health organization that certifies products and writes standards for food, water and consumer goods, announces that Oman Oasis Balanced Drinking Water and Oman Oasis Oxiplus Drinking Water, bottled by the Oasis Water Company of Oman, have earned NSF Bottled Water Certification.
To achieve NSF Certification, the plant located in the Muscat-Rusayl area of Oman underwent a rigorous audit to verify that the bottling facility met all certification requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), which are nationally-recognized standards for food safety. NSF also tested samples of Oasis products against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations for Bottled Water for more than 160 chemicals, inorganic, radiological and microbiological contaminants.
To maintain certification, the NSF Bottled Water Certification program conducts annual product testing and unannounced bottling facility audits that cover every aspect of a bottler's operation, from the source of the water through the disinfection and treatment process, including the container closure process.
"We use our state-of-the-art production facility and quality program to create a carefully balanced, great tasting bottled drinking water. Having the recognition that our products meet the highest standards certified by NSF International, known for their global expertise in bottled water, gives us a competitive advantage with our customers," said Janardhan N, General Manager of Oasis Water Company. "We chose NSF Bottled Water Certification because we know it provides peace of mind to all of our customers, including some of the best-known hospitality venues and international diplomatic missions."
"Oasis has achieved a major milestone by obtaining certification of their bottled water product line. They are the first company in Oman to be certified. NSF Certification communicates to customers and retailers that every aspect of beverage quality has been evaluated," said Chris Dunn, General Manager of NSF International's Bottled Water and Beverage Quality Certification Program.
Bottled water and beverage products meeting all certification requirements may bear the NSF Mark and are included on NSF International's website.
