MISSOULA, MONTANA -- Nutritional Laboratories International (NLI) is pleased to announce that Qingyong Lang, PhD, has joined NLI’s scientific staff. As Quality Control Chemist, Dr. Lang will perform stability studies, dissolution, and quality control for analysis of raw materials, in-process and finished goods in support of NLI’s capsule and tablet cGMP contract manufacturing services to the dietary supplement and pharmaceutical industries.
For 20 years, Dr. Lang has shared his scientific expertise with institutes, universities and entities such as the FDA, NSF and NASA. Those years of experience have not gone undocumented. Lang has authored and published more than 20 professional papers. The method development for herbal analysis and application of supercritical fluid and pressurized water extraction in herbal and environmental studies has proven to be a major career focus. In fact, this year, he and a colleague were awarded a U.S. patent for Pressurized Water Extraction.
Over the years, Dr. Lang has been the recipient of numerous awards, including research and teaching assistantships and visiting professorships. His dedication to research and discovery are matched by his dedication to teaching. Therefore, Dr. Lang felt considerably honored when he received an Outstanding Teaching award from the University of Idaho, the same university where he earned a Chemistry doctorate in 1999.
“The addition of a skilled researcher like Dr. Lang became necessary after the company moved into a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. We had five times more laboratory space and needed additional PhD’s,” explained Dr. Titut Yokelson, Vice President of Research and Development. Yokelson added, “Dr. Lang will help us achieve the company’s goal of offering clients expanded laboratory services.”
NLI currently offers laboratory services including analytical and microbial testing, method development, stability and shelf-life studies, dissolution and disintegration testing, and product and process validation studies.
