CHESTERFIELD, Mo., Jan 7, 2008 (PrimeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Reliv International, Inc. (RELV) , a creator of proprietary nutritional supplements, is launching its Slimplicity(r) Weight Loss System in the European Union.
Reliv introduced its successful weight-loss product at the company's United Kingdom national conference over the weekend, and it will launch Slimplicity in the Netherlands, Austria and Germany this week.
Last February, Reliv launched the Slimplicity Weight Loss System to great success in the United States. The company hopes to replicate that success in the EU this year, and it is working on plans to roll out Slimplicity to its other international markets in the future.
The importance of weight loss has been in the news in the U.K. in recent months after Foresight, a British government think tank, estimated that 60 percent of men, 50 percent of women and 25 percent of children will be obese by 2050.
The Slimplicity Weight Loss System consists of two products. The first is a meal replacement shake that provides a superb balance of vitamins, minerals and protein for optimal nutrition, but with fewer calories than a typical meal. The second is a chewable tablet that works with the shake to control weight.
Reliv International, Inc., based in suburban St. Louis, Mo., is a developer, manufacturer and marketer of a proprietary line of nutritional supplements addressing basic nutrition, specific wellness needs, weight management and sports nutrition.
