Decatur, GA (November 28, 2006) – Ribbon Nutrition, a supplement manufacturer created specifically to fund Non-Profit Organizations in the fight against Breast Cancer, has announced the organizations that have been selected to receive donations from retail sales throughout 2007. Ribbon Nutrition donates up to 10% of total company revenue to their Non-Profit Partners. Nationally in 2007, those donations will be shared by Young Survival Coalition (YSC), Environmental Working Group (EWG), and Pink Penguin Press (PPP).
In addition to monetary donations to their Non-Profit Partners, Ribbon Nutrition will work with the non-profits to coordinate and share educational efforts and resources. Monetary and resource donations from Ribbon Nutrition will allow Pink Penguin Press to publish five books and six issues of inPink Magazine in 2007. The company will work with Environmental Working Group to distribute consumer-oriented educational materials, including their Shopper’s Guides to Safe Cosmetics and Pesticides in Produce. Young Survival Coalition will help provide women’s health support, including speakers for store-level and community lectures and public forums. At the same time, Ribbon Nutrition will participate in various events with their Non-Profit Partners, including the YSC’s Tour de Pink event and PPP’s Virtual March to End Breast Cancer.
In addition to their national Partners, Ribbon Nutrition has also pledged financial and educational support to local Organic Associations, such as Georgia Organics and the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association. Stephen Hennessy, co-founder of Ribbon Nutrition, explains the diversity of the groups selected for 2007, “The various groups we are working with represent our natural lifestyle approach to ending Breast Cancer. Disease prevention or proliferation is directly tied to lifestyle, from the foods we eat to the air we breathe to the way we take care of our minds and body. The recipients of our donations are a direct reflection of that philosophy. By working with diverse national and local Non-Profits, it allows us to accomplish the vitally important outreach part of our mission. What good is all this great information we have in our industry if we can’t reach new people with it?”

About Environmental Working Group. Since 1993, Environmental Working Group has specialized in environmental investigations. Their team of scientists, engineers, policy experts, lawyers and computer programmers pour over government data, legal documents, scientific studies and their own laboratory tests to expose threats to your health and the environment, and to find solutions. Their research brings to light unsettling facts that you have a right to know. It shames and shakes up polluters and their lobbyists. It rattles politicians and shapes policy. It persuades bureaucracies to rethink science and strengthen regulation. It provides practical information you can use to protect your family and community. And because their investigations and interactive websites tend to make news, you've probably heard about them. Learn more about Environmental Working Group at www.ewg.org.
