Study Confirms Razberi-K(TM)Supports Fat Oxidation

SARASOTA, FL, March 2, 2007 – Integrity, maker of Cinnulin PF and the leading supplier of scientifically-based innovative and high-quality nutraceutical ingredients, today announced the results of a recently completed pilot study on Razberi-K™, its trademarked raspberry ketone ingredient. The placebo-controlled, double-blind portion of the study, conducted by the Ohio Research Group, examined the effect of a single dose of raspberry ketone on excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) in highly trained men and women with an average age of 31.3 years. Subjects performed two exercise bouts in counterbalanced order; exercise intensity and duration were tightly standardized during both trials; and EPOC was measured during a 30-minute recovery period. During the Razberi-K trial subjects showed a trend towards greater fat oxidation in the late stage (30 minutes post exercise). Subsequently, a 30-day open-label study was used to ascertain the safety profile of Razberi-K during daily use. No statistically significant differences were noted in markers of clinical chemistry throughout the 30-day safety assessment.

“These preliminary data support the efficacy of Razberi-K supplementation for the management of body fat in
healthy men and women, particularly when used in conjunction with exercise”, stated Dr. Tim Ziegenfuss, CEO, Ohio Research Group. “Further, the safety profile of Razberi-K appears to be acceptable and no adverse events were reported for the duration of the study.”

This study adds to existing clinical research in which raspberry ketone has been shown to have anti-obesity effects by altering lipid metabolism, specifically by increasing norepinephrine-induced lipolysis, an effect which may enhance thermogenesis and oxidation of body fat.

“We are very excited about the results of this pilot study. This gives us the evidence we need to further investigate the safety and efficacy of Razberi-K, said Tim Romero, President of Integrity. “As weight management continues to be a top concern among Americans, Integrity will continue to source and research ingredients to support this arena.”
