SupplyExpo set to build on 2006 growth
Following last year's record-breaking attendance, and 40 per cent growth in floor space, SupplyExpo has been named one of the 50 fastest-growing tradeshows in North America, according to Tradeshow Weekly. Building further on this spectacular growth, it is expected to host hundreds of exhibitors and as many as 8,000 visitors in 2007
Now in its fourth year, the event is firmly established as a highlight in the spring show calendar for product developers, research scientists, formulators, ingredients buyers and senior executives. Co-located with Natural Products Expo West and the Nutracon conference in Anaheim, California, the event gives product-development teams the opportunity to cover the entire industry value chain in one visit, whether sourcing ingredients and product-development solutions at SupplyExpo or checking out the latest finished goods at Expo West right next door.
And it works both ways — the manufacturer exhibitors at Expo West can source their ingredients in the adjacent Hall A. "If you want to know what is cutting edge, you go to SupplyExpo to get the full scope of ingredients and technology available," says Wayne Geilman, PhD, of Pure Fruit Technologies.
This year SupplyExpo has introduced a dedicated organic pavilion featuring certified organic ingredients for this rapidly growing sector of the food manufacturing industry. Also new is a Sunday brunch which will be served from 10am -12 noon on the SupplyExpo show floor.
Business Information and Technology Exchange
This forum, produced by NPIcenter and New Hope Natural Media, brings together and explores the potential of ideas from academia, government and industry. Len Monheit, president of NPIcenter, says, "We're selecting promising and innovative technology platforms and products, and providing a forum for these to be presented right on the show floor. Sometimes, it's a challenge to sort out applicability and uniqueness as you walk around the floor, and who's developed exactly what. The 'Exchange' is intended to make that determination clearer. We'll have scheduled presentations during SupplyExpo, and our online Exchange to keep the dialogue going between developers and concept-seekers."
Visitors can sample products and ingredients at the café located at the Global Supply Marketplace booth in Hall A. It's the place to taste, smell and experience application-ready or semi-finished ingredients that can be used in a food or beverage.
Scientific poster sessions
These poster-format technical presentations will highlight industry-relevant applications of science and technical advancement. Researchers will be on hand to discuss their findings.
Ingredient and technology showcase
This showcase will highlight ingredient and technology information, including potential applications, science and specifications from SupplyExpo exhibitors.
An international resource: SUPPLY IS GLOBAL
Sourcing ingredients and products is a global business and visitors from outside the US can get advice and guidance on the North American market at the Global Resource Center, where international trade specialists and North American market experts will be on hand Friday through Sunday during show floor hours. Private meeting spaces, a lounge area and computers with Internet access are all available at the Resource Center.
The Global Business Program is designed to help international exhibitors and visitors to SupplyExpo and Natural Products Expo West succeed in launching and successfully marketing products and services in the North American healthy-products marketplace. The programme runs from Wednesday to Sunday and includes a series of workshops, show-floor tours and daily briefings.
