NORTHRIDGE, Calif.--Jan. 21, 2003--Pharmavite LLC, makers of Nature Made(R) dietary supplements, received a letter from U.S. Senators Orrin G. Hatch (R-UT) and Tom Harkin (D-IA) congratulating the company on its participation in the United States Pharmacopeia's (USP) new Dietary Supplement Verification Program (DSVP). DSVP is designed to build consumer confidence in supplements.
In the letter, Senators Hatch and Harkin wrote, "As the industry awaits notice of good manufacturing practices from the FDA, there is much that can be done to help ensure consumers of product quality. Participation in the DSVP is a step in the right direction and we hope other firms follow your example ... and soon!"

As part of the DSVP process, USP analyzes the product and audits the manufacturing facility for the quality and integrity of its ingredients, thereby helping to assure consumers that the dietary supplement:
