Yakult Develops “Yakult PS-20L” Phosphatidylserine Functional Ingredient for Food

Yakult Honsha Co., Ltd. and Taiyo Kagaku Co., Ltd. have together successfully developed a functional ingredient for food that includes phosphatidylserine (PS), known as “Yakult PS-20L”. The ingredient is produced using Yakult’s unique patented production method. With non-GMO soybeans as the raw material and using a unique enzyme, a cheap production system has been established, developed together by Yakult and Taiyo Kagaku. The ingredient will be sold as a raw material to food makers nationwide from 1 October 2008 through the three subsidiary companies of Yakult Material Co., Ltd., Yakult Pharmaceutical Industry Co., Ltd., and Nihon Chlorella Co. Ltd.
