Zychrome clinical results presented at American College of Nutrition

Zychrome clinical results presented at American College of Nutrition
Zychrome was shown to be more impactful than chromium picolinate on insulin levels.

InterHealth’s lead scientist, Francis Lau, PhD, FACN presented comparative clinical research findings on InterHealth Nutraceutical’s next generation chromium, Zychrome™, at the 52nd American College of Nutrition Meeting in Morriston, New Jersey, November 16-19.

Zychrome was shown to be more impactful than chromium picolinate on insulin levels and function by 1.4-fold and 2.0-fold, respectively. Zychrome’s impact on insulin levels and insulin function was significantly better compared to baseline (30% improvement) at the end of the three month study. Chromium picolinate did not significantly affect insulin levels or function. Subjects were identically dosed with 400 mcg of elemental chromium. Zychrome also significantly decreased inflammatory cytokine TNF-α by 21% and protein carbonyl by 10%. Both TNF-α and protein carbonyl are closely associated with oxidative stress and insulin function.

Through ongoing clinical research, InterHealth strives to provide superior ingredients to manufacturers and consumers. It is important to identify, through comparative clinical research, the most efficacious ingredients and include them in finished products. Consumers demand and deserve the best. In a recent survey of diabetes educators, over 88% indicated that the results of the comparative study between Zychrome and chromium picolinate support the conclusion that Zychrome is superior to chromium picolinate for insulin management. Over 70% would recommend Zychrome over chromium picolinate if available on the market.

Zychrome’s presentation at the American College of Nutrition meeting marks the first public presentation of the research results. A copy of the poster presentation is available upon request through InterHealth. Additionally, InterHealth presented two clinical research studies on Merastin™, InterHealth’s latest weight-loss ingredient.
