More consumers switching to skincare that is better for their health— and for the world

With over 1,800 sun protection products on the market, it can be incredibly challenging to pick a safe yet effective brand. Top-selling sunscreen brands sold in mainstream stores may contain active ingredients that can distrupt hormones, cause allergic skin reactions, and damage the ocean’s coral reefs and marine life when washed off in the water.

As word gets out, consumers are turning to more natural sunscreens, many of which contain titanium dioxide and zinc oxide as an alternative form of protection. While non-natural sunscreens and tanning lotions are in decline, natural alternatives are quickly growing at nearly 24% across all channels.
