Clinical Study Demonstrates Efficacy of KalmCold™ Against Cold and Flu

Indian dietary supplement producer Natural Remedies Pvt. Ltd. has recently completed a clinical study on KalmCold(TM) and has announced results from the trial conducted in India.

The study was designed as a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled investigation of KalmCold(TM) versus a suitable placebo for 5 days.
The study was successful in demonstrating safety and efficacy of KalmColdTM in assisting the relief of cold and flu symptoms.

220 adults of either sex with uncomplicated upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) were recruited for the study and were randomly assigned to receive either a placebo or KalmColdTM (200 mg/ day in two divided doses). KalmCold(TM) was 52.7% or 2.1 times more effective than placebo on various symptoms of cold and flu. KalmCold(TM) was well tolerated with no serious adverse events.

Prior to this trial LD50 analysis, Ames test, in vitro mammalian chromosome aberration test, in vitro micronucleus test and Brine Shrimp Lethality test were performed by R & D at Natural Remedies confirming the safe use of KalmColdTM.
