Cyanotech’s scientific team led by microalgae and carotenoid pioneer Gerry Cysewski, PhD has been busy again, this time improving the antioxidant system used during the harvesting and processing of BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin oleoresin products in order to maximize stability. Through extensive research employing only natural antioxidants, Dr. Cysewski and his research & development group have successfully doubled the stability of BioAstin oleoresin. We can now guarantee 2 years stability of our oleoresin, and in most delivery systems, an additional 2–3 years stability of the finished products once produced. This allows for an impressive 4–5 years of shelf life from the creation of the raw material until use by the end consumer.

Our new Specification Sheets include an addition of mixed tocopherols (naturally sourced), which may necessitate a label change for finished products depending on the countries in which products are marketed. The improved product will begin to ship in fall of this year.
