5 supplements that exemplify clean label

The desire for clean-label supplements has moved consumers away from capsules and tablets toward powders and liquids.

As consumers pay closer attention to what is in their food, they also want to know what is in their supplements—including the fillers, binders and flow agents. Even those "extras" with chemical-sounding names, such as magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide or calcium phosphate, aren't acceptable to the clean-label shoppers.

Consequently, some manufacturers now use clean ingredients—rice-based Nu-MAG and Mazza Innovation's high-pressure water system, for example—to ensure their supplements meet the demands of the meticulous label-reading consumer. Here are five supplements that fulfill clean label requirements.
