When hemp CBD first came on the market, the way to get it was in tincture bottles of oil, taken with a dropper. Those classic products are increasingly fewer and farther between as the always-innovative hemp space is cruising into the future.

A select few early brands were produced by veterans of the larger dietary supplements industry. Some of these brands treated hemp CBD as just another botanical, and so formulated it with other supplement-style complementary ingredients to supercharge condition-specific formulations.

Some products are employing bioavailability-enhancing technologies, the likes of which are common with other large nutritional molecules such as curcumin and CoQ10.

CBD, as well as its buzzy cannabinoid cousin THC, represent the two major cannabinoids in hemp. But there are at least 100 minor cannabinoids, and they are being researched and developed with health benefits in their own right. This has been their coming-out-party year.

Gummies seem to be taking over the supplements industry—2019 represented the first year ever where non-pill formats sold more than traditional capsules and tablets. Hemp CBD is no different.

And speaking of fresh delivery formats, CBD is being blended in with classic coffees and teas.
