"For any other entrepreneurs that are out there that want to start a kale company, the house is full," says Rhythm Superfoods CEO Scott Jensen.
Indeed, kale chips have proliferated in the snack aisles of natural and conventional grocers alike, and even in some convenience stores. But Jensen says there's still growth to come.
By not cornering itself in the kale chip market, Rhythm can adapt when tastes and trends change. "We're mission-driven; we make superfood snacks, and kale is not the only superfood out there," he says. In the last two years, the company has also launched broccoli bites, beet chips and flat-leaf roasted lacinato kale.
In this video from Natural Products Expo West 2016, Jensen explains the company's model for launching new products, how it supports sales once products are on the shelf and what's ahead in superfood snacks.
