$1 = safe drinking water for kids
March 19, 2009
Next time you eat out, you can help UNICEF bring safe, clean drinking water to children worldwide. During World Water Week, March 22-28, restaurants all over the country will be participating in the Tap Project, asking patrons for a $1 (or more) donation for the water that all of us routinely, unthinkingly enjoy for free. Just that tiny sum provides a needy child with 40 days of clean drinking water. Given that water-related disease is the number-two cause of death for children worldwide, this easy step can really make a difference. Check out the Tap Project website to enter your zip code to find participating restaurants in your area. Make your next restaurant meal count for good!
