Dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free pizza is a natural extension of Daiya's widely used vegan cheese distributed in food service across the country. Four flavors offer something for everyone, and may just win over those who can't swear off cheese: Cheeze Lover's, Margherita, Fire-Roasted Vegetable and Mushroom & Roasted Garlic.
This tangier and sweeter spread reminds us of the taste of Miracle Whip, but without modified ingredients or eggs. The latest non-GMO Nayonaise from Nasoya (the original vegan mayo company) is also cholesterol-free and fortified with vegan omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin B12. Kudos for a great, natural crossover product for soon-to-be plant-based eaters.
Gardein reinvigorated its brand this year at Expo West with "I lost my veg-inity" buttons and new product launches including a breakfast sandwich and these sliders that were one of our favorite finds from the show. While certified vegan, but not organic, Gardein does source non-GMO ingredients such as its soy protein.
One taste of Earth Balance's newest popcorn product brought us back to a certain conventional brand that used to be a childhood favorite—except 100% better because this popcorn is plant-based and natural. This non-GMO product is finger-licking addictive. We may or may not have eaten half a bag in one sitting.
All of the flavor, none of the animal byproducts makes this our favorite vegan alfredo sauce in a jar. Cashews are the stars of this creamy Non-GMO Project Verified concoction that will win over carnivorous tastebuds in four flavors (shown top row): Original, Artichoke, Arugula Pesto and Roasted Pepper.
Described by a fellow vegan as "like you're drinking non-fat milk," (which may or may not be a good thing, depending on your preference) these non-dairy milks are USDA Organic and made from a blend of flax, rice and hemp, giving a boost of 2500mg of omega-3s per serving. The true test of a good non-dairy milk is if the unsweetened version is not only palatable, but tasty. Omega Milk passed the test.
A brand new look enlivens the Dr. Praeger's brand of certified vegan veggie burgers. Two new flavors, Asian and Thai, appeal to those with international tastes and conscious consumers seeking transparency in their food. These burgers contain pronounceable and recognizable ingredients that you can see inside the burger itself. We only wish they were certified organic, though the company has said its California burger (also pictured here) is non-GMO.
Hot fudge sundaes go dairy-free and vegan with this incredibly smooth chocolate sauce that we sometimes prefer to eat right out of the jar (shh, don't tell.) Two new flavors make us love Jen of Jen's Chocolate Zen even more: Peppermint and Raspberry. Dairy lovers won't even know it's made with organic coconut milk.
Soybeans can be scary for meat eaters, and not just because they're genetically modified. Scary because when they're microwaved from the freezer, they're mushy and anything but fresh. Not this new Non-GMO Project Verified edamame from the makers of Crunchamame. Made in the USA makes us savor these fresh-tasting pods even more.
One of the most alienating times of year for vegan children: Halloween. Surf Sweets is making the holiday easier this year with USDA Organic packs of their sweet, cleaner candies. Five of the company's products are vegan, in that they contain no gelatin: Fruity Bears, Gummy Swirls, Sour Berry Bears, Sour Worms and Fruity Hearts.
