Stevia—Reb A in industry parlance—has had an up and down track record. The initial enthusiasm got tamped down because of its bitter, licorice-like off notes. Some companies blend Reb A with erythritol, monk fruit or sugar. Cargill looks like they might have found the answer. See this taste test to see.
