Heinz packaging of Little Kids Shredz food product deemed misleading by federal court

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission last year launched legal action against Heinz, claiming that the company was misleading consumers with false claims about its line of fruit pastes, purees and concentrate. Particularly in question was a claim that the products contain “99% fruit and veg,” despite being 60 percent sugar. A judge sided with the commission that the packaging falsely implied that the products were beneficial to toddlers, but dismissed other claims in the lawsuit. Read more at ABC News Australia…
