Annie’s mac and cheese has always saved mealtime. Now it’s saving the planet
Annie's, the most successful organic kid-food brand in the U.S., is investing in regenerative agriculture as a way to keep up with the marketplace over the next few years. According to General Mills' managing director of natural and organic, terms like "natural" and "organic" will no longer cut it for natural brands touting themselves as eco-conscious. The parent company recently bought 34,000 acres of land in South Dakota to supply Annie's with organic hard red spring wheat. Federal judge halts Trump's proposed food stamp cutback for 700K Americans
A proposed Trump administration rule that would have disqualified an estimated 688,000 Americans from receiving SNAP benefits was struck down by a federal judge this week. Scientists build pioneering fuel cells out of spinach
Spinach has high density, energy-generating molecules (who knew?) that could eventually be useful in industrial applications. That means electronic devices, military gear and electric car batteries could all soon be partly comprised of Popeye's favorite vegetable. The spinach-derived catalyst was also markedly more efficient than regular platinum fuel cells. SyFy has the details.

Nestle and Coca-Cola refresh beverage portfolios
Nestle is allegedly saying good-bye to some of its American water brands including Poland Spring and Deer Park; meanwhile, Coca-Cola is retiring its underforming Zico coconut water brand and Odwalla smoothie brand.
