Self-described ‘Willy Wonka’ buys shuttered Brooklyn food incubator Pilotworks

Australian chef Adam Melonas of Boston-based food research lab Chew is backing the reopening of the Brooklyn food incubator once known as Pilotworks. Vendors who were abruptly kicked out of Pilotworks after its sudden closure in October have expressed high levels of interest in re-entering the space in order to have the ability to produce goods during the busy holiday season. Read more at Eater 


Supermarket to offer children free fruit every day

Food waste is emerging as a top concern for consumers, and supermarket Morrisons has come up with an initiative to both help children get their five-a-day and reduce the amount of unsold produce that gets thrown out. Opening of first Publix college campus store a ‘change-maker’ for USF

A Publix has opened on the University of South Florida Tampa campus, and is the first of the popular grocery chain’s store to ever open on a college campus.
