How General Mills is using 'lemonade stands' to develop products faster
About 40 new products designed for on-the-go or health-focused consumers are on the way from the company's various brands, including Annie's, which will launch baking mixes, refrigerated doughs and three organic cereals. These products have come to market faster because the company has adopted a "more entrepreneurial approach to product development," according to its vice president of innovation, that includes direct-to-consumer sampling of new products. This bill could keep the government from plotting against vegan mayo again
Sens. Cory Booker and Mike Lee introduced a bipartisan bill last week that would keep federal checkoff programs designed to promote an industry (for example, the American Egg Board) from attacking competitors instead. MycoTechnology, a startup in Aurora, Colorado, is using invisible fungi molecules that stick to a person's tastebuds while they eat to block bitter flavors that food manufacturers often use sugar to mask.
