GM salmon hits shelves in Canada—but people may not know they’re buying it

Canadian regulators approved AquaBounty salmon for sale last year, making it the first genetically engineered animal to enter the food supply. The fish have made their way into supermarkets, and AquaBounty says about 5 tons have been sold in recent months. Debate over ‘Clean Honest Ingredients’ label gets dirty

Healthy shoppers were likely psyched to hear that Hy-Vee was launching an initiative to remove artificial colors and flavors from its private label products. But not farmers in the top corn-producing state, Iowa. They say the program incorrectly implies that high fructose corn syrup is an artificial ingredient.
