Biothera Announces Scientific Advisory Board for Healthcare Ingredient Business

Biothera announced today a board of scientific advisors specializing in food science, medicine and natural medicine to counsel the company on research and development efforts relating to its immune health ingredients for foods, beverages and nutritional supplements.

“We are delighted to have experts of this caliber provide guidance as we continue the development of Wellmune WGP® and our other immune-enhancing products for a wide range of products,” said Richard Mueller, Biothera chief executive officer.

The Biothera Healthcare Scientific Advisory Board includes the following members:

Roger Clemens, DrPH.
Dr. Clemens is a faculty member in the USC School of Pharmacy and member of the U.S. 2010 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. Dr. Clemens is a food science spokesperson for the Institute of Food Technologists. He was the Scientific Advisor for Nestle USA for more than 21 years.

William Sears, M.D.
Dr. Bill Sears, one of America’s most renowned pediatricians, is the author of more than 40 books on childcare and Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine.

Michael Murray, N.D.
Michael T. Murray, N.D., is widely regarded as one of the world's leading authorities on natural medicine and the author of over 30 books on health and nutrition. He is a graduate, former faculty member, and serves on the Board of Regents of Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington.

Major General (ret) John Parker, M.D.
Former Assistant Surgeon General of the U.S. Army, General Parker is currently an advisor to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).

Paul Clayton, Ph.D.
Dr. Clayton is the Chair of the Forum on Food and Health at Royal Society of Medicine (UK) and former advisor on Committee on the Safety of Medicines.
