Lucky's Market to open Longmont locationLucky’s Market is pleased to open its first store in Longmont, Colo., on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the recently renovated Parkway Promenade at 700 Ken Pratt Blvd. The opening also marks the debut of Lucky’s Wine & Spirits, a full-service liquor store that features artisanal spirits, small-batch wines and craft beers chosen with the care and eye for value that Lucky’s is known for.

Many Longmont residents will have shopped at the original Lucky’s, a homegrown Boulder favorite. Lucky’s Longmont brings all the good things closer, in a space nearly twice the size. The Longmont store is the first Lucky’s Market expansion store, with more stores in planning stages.

The Longmont opening is a week-long celebration. A private event on Monday, Aug. 12, sets the scene with a rare treat: An appearance by Ralph Sharon, pianist and musical conductor on many of Tony Bennett’s Grammy-award-winning releases and father of Lucky’s co-founder, Bo Sharon. Wednesday marks the debut of Lucky’s weekly sale flyer, marking the start of a Longmont shopping habit. On Saturday and Sunday, a vendor fair and charity events will welcome weekend shoppers to the full Lucky’s experience.

The opening is a landmark for Bo Sharon and co-founder and wife Trish Sharon. Both chefs, the couple met in culinary school and founded Lucky’s in 2003 to provide a new “foodie” shopping experience.

“We are incredibly proud to open in Longmont,” said Bo Sharon. “We imagine our stores as an oasis of health, kindness and support, the kind of store we love to shop in ourselves. We look forward to bringing our community new tastes for their kitchens – and continuing to support our passionate Longmont farmers and vendors as well.”

“Just as we invite guests into our home, we invite our customers into our stores for a memorable experience,” said Trish Sharon. 

The Sharons avoid using such words as “natural” and “organic” to describe their foods, because those words often imply expense or exclusivity. Instead, they say they offer “traditional” items to better serve the community.

  • Produce: Local, organic and best value in town.

  • Meat: Lucky’s prides itself on selling meat that is antibiotic-free and up to Never Ever Standards, the USDA’s classification for meat from an animal that was never treated with growth hormones or fed animal byproducts. Bacon, sausage and other meat specialties are cured and smoked in-house for guaranteed quality.

  • Grocery: From iconic breakfast cereals to 100 percent raw and vegan goodies, Lucky’s will have it – many from new companies and local vendors. 

  • Deli: Lucky’s was founded by two chefs, so its prepared foods are exceptional. Everything will be made on site – from scratch – with seasonal menus with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Stations for sushi, pizza using house-made ingredients, a hot bar, salad bar and soup bar will have Longmont’s food lovers coming back often.

  • Cheese: The store offers more than 350 kinds of cheeses, from local artisans and some of the world’s best.  

  • Natural Living: Skin care, vitamins/ supplements, cosmetics, children’s products and traditional remedies, with knowledgeable team members to help you choose.
