Locally owned New Seasons Market has confirmed plans to build a 25,000-square-foot grocery store in southeast Portland.

New Seasons Market plans new store in Portland's Woodstock neighborhood

With a lease now finalized, locally owned New Seasons Market today confirmed plans to construct a 25,000-square-foot grocery store on the southeast corner of SE 45th Avenue and Woodstock Boulevard in Portland. The new store will be built on the site of the former Wood Pro Beauty Center, Putters Bar and Grill and the Woodstock Wellness Center.

“We’re excited and humbled by the outpouring of enthusiasm during our exploration of this location,” said Wendy Collie, President and CEO of New Seasons Market. “Making a decision to build a new store takes many months, and we appreciate the Woodstock community’s interest and patience during the process. “

New Seasons Market’s Woodstock store will feature a three-level structure: an underground level with parking for 56 cars; a street-level store with covered bike parking; and rooftop features, including a deck with a semi-enclosed dining area for customers and offices for store personnel. All three levels will be accessible by an elevator and stairs.

Inside the store customers will experience New Seasons Market’s trademark friendly, knowledgeable service and selection, including fresh, organic produce, locally and sustainably raised meats and seafood, a full-service deli featuring chef-prepared entrees and made-to-order sandwiches, one of the city’s best selections of artisan cheese and bread, wine and beer, plus, hundreds of bulk items, an in-house florist, a coffee, tea and dessert station, and a wellness department staffed by experts on health and body care. 

New Seasons Market will lease the site from local owner and developer John Reinholt of Woodstock Retail II, LLC. The architect is Portland-based LRS Architects. The developer will break ground in July 2014, with a store opening slated for late summer 2015.The Woodstock New Seasons will create approximately 150 new jobs, with the goal of hiring as many people as possible from the immediate community.
