New Vitamin Targets Needs of Nurses

Employee Vita, a Chandler, Arizona-based vitamin company, recently introduced Nurse Vita ( http://www.NurseVita.com), a new nutritional supplement targeted toward nurses. The web-based vitamin company is the first of its kind to offer supplements that address the health needs of people in specific occupations.

"Nurses' needs are different from those in other occupations," said Brett Waslefsky, president of Employee Vita.

"They are constantly exposed to germs. They work long shifts, often on their feet. They constantly wash their hands, stripping away essential oils in the skin. They experience a great deal of stress from hour to hour. They need a supplement that addresses these specific occupational conditions," he said.

Nurse Vita contains specific ingredients that support nurses' immune systems, while also caring for skin and enhancing energy and stamina.
Employee Vita's products -- Teacher Vita, Trucker Vita, and now Nurse Vita -- go beyond other multivitamins, Waslefsky said. In addition to providing at least 100 percent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamins and minerals, each product contains its own set of "proprietary blend." Each proprietary blend is a combination of nutrients that focus on an occupation's specific health needs.

"Why should people have to buy multiple bottles and take handfuls of pills to stay healthy? That's confusing, expensive, and inconvenient. Our proprietary blends allow people to get exactly what they need in one bottle. It's cheaper, easier, and better addresses their unique needs. It takes the guesswork out of staying healthy," Waslefsky said.

Waslefsky founded Employee Vita in 2007 after a casual discussion with his wife, an elementary school teacher.

"During our conversation, I realized that occupations can have a profound effect on health. Certain occupational environments challenge a person's immune systems more than others," he said. "My wife was always trying to avoid getting the latest 'bug' going around school, while juggling a hectic schedule of classes, meetings, grading, and planning, plus our family obligations. It was taxing to her health and well-being. Occupation specific vitamins seemed like a great way to address this challenge from a nutritional perspective."

By partnering with a Chandler, Arizona-based vitamin company, Waslefsky was able to assemble a team of experts to ensure Employee Vita's supplements were effective and safe.

Employee Vita's production adheres to the current Good Manufacturing Practices of the National Safety Foundation. These regulations are stringent and ensure identity, purity, strength, and composition of the product, he said.

"We are proud of our supplements and are excited to add Nurse Vita to our product family. Nurses work hard to take care of others. Now there is a supplement that can take care of them," he said.
