Products Debut At Expo Europe

Natural Products Expo Europe, June 12 and 13, will introduce North American retailers and distributors to both new and established products from Europe and other continents.

The show categorizes exhibitors by product type and highlights those organizations seeking distributors. The show floor gives separate space to each of the three main industry sectors—supplements and herbal remedies; natural, functional foods and nutraceutical products; and body care and cosmeceutical products.

Among the new French products being introduced are organic herbal extracts containing a high concentration of active ingredients in a new galenic form, a fat burner with a new combination of three thermogenic plants, the first European isoflavone-based product supported by a clinical study, a new natural therapeutic treatment for high cholesterol levels and capsules to help reduce hypertension.

New products from China include a balsam pear extract with phyto-insulin effects, a capsule form of French Paradox and an aurantium extract to increase metabolic rate and promote weight loss and energy levels.

A Swiss manufacturer is introducing a highly absorbable coral calcium. The manufacturer will also offer a free 12-second health test at the Expo to determine body acidity—high acidity is a primary indicator of calcium deficiency. U.K. producers will introduce a range of 21 certified organic essential oils and 12 essential blends.

In addition to these and other new products, Expo Europe will provide a two-day program of free seminars presented by leading industry experts in association with a European trade association or institute—including the European Federation of Associations of Health Product Manufacturers, the Soil Association and International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements.

Presenters will discuss:

  • how to enter the European market

  • the impact of new E.U. legislation on herbal remedies

  • implications of GM food-labeling laws for the industry

  • key product trend developments in the European soy market.
