D' Naturals, maker of Now Cow protein bars, has changed its name to Now Cow, debuted new packaging, and unveiled a new high-protein dairy-free cookie and two new bar flavors. Started in 2015 by then 18-year-old Daniel Katz, the company focuses on low-sugar, plant-based protein products. The new No Cow Cookies deliver at least 12 grams of plant-based protein per cookie with only 1 gram of sugar. Cookie flavors include Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate and Snickerdoodle. New bar flavors, which deliver at least 20 grams of dairy-free protein with only 1 gram of sugar, are Carrot Cake and Chunky Peanut Butter.
Protein Snack Packs are the new shelf-stable meat and cheese snack cups from Chef's Cut Real Jerky Co. In two flavors, Teriyaki & Pepper Jack Cheese and Original Recipe & Cheddar Cheese, these protein snacks combine Chef's Cut tender jerky with dehydrated crispy cheese. They have 13 to 14 grams of protein and are low in fat and carbs.
Après is a new vegan post-workout shake with plant proteins (pea, chia, cacao and hemp), virgin coconut oil and hydrating coconut water. It's sold online and at select fitness studios. "It's our belief that modern wellness consumers, especially women, have been all but overlooked from a replenishment point-of-view," said cofounder and CEO Sonny McCracken.
