Lunchskins has created a 100 percent plastic-free, recyclable, home compostable, disposable and sealable paper sandwich bag. Made from unbleached, toxin-free paper, the company says it designed the bags to be an alternative to plastic sandwich bags for food storage at home or on-the-go.
Shaheen Majeed has been promoted to president of Sabinsa Worldwide, with responsibility for manufacturing, marketing, strategies and other operational matters. Free-from food leader Enjoy Life Foods announced the launch of three new flavors in its line of Baked Chewy Bars: Caramel Blondie, Carrot Cake and Lemon Blueberry Poppy Seed. They feature a proprietary Pure Life Balanced Dry Blend of hulled sunflower kernels, cassava flour, white pearled-grain sorghum flour and quinoa flakes, and are free from the top eight common food allergens.
Two membership-based nonprofit organizations have joined the Organic Trade Association's Farmers Advisory Council: Pennsylvania Certified Organic and Georgia Organics. Together, the two organizations represent nearly 1,200 organic producers and will strengthen the engagement and input of organic producers in OTA's policy work.
