Cyvex Nutrition’s Euro Black Currant extract has successfully achieved self-affirmed GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) status and can be safely used in a wide range of functional foods and beverages. The process involved an intensive review of safety and toxicology data by an independent panel of highly qualified experts.

"With this GRAS designation, manufacturers can now safely and easily incorporate Euro Black Currant to transform conventional food and beverage offerings into functional products that deliver powerful antioxidant benefits," stated Constance Ostler, director of sales and marketing at Cyvex Nutrition. "Euro Black Currant is poised for tremendous market growth in the coming years, especially as consumer interest in antioxidant products remains strong."

Euro Black Currant is a dark-colored berry that is an excellent source of minerals, vitamins, and much more. Black Currant berries are a much higher source of antioxidants than blackberries and blueberries and are abundant in anthocyanins. Cyvex's Euro Black Currant extract is standardized to 25 percent anthocyanins, making it one of the most potent berry extracts available on the market.
