Developed from prickly pear cactus fruit (Opuntia ficus indica), Cacti-Nea™ first revealed original antioxidant and diuretic properties. Preliminary studies already showed Cacti-Nea™'s weight management potential linked to the elimination of excess fluids and body weight management.

The last study conducted on rats one year ago, actually showed very interesting and encouraging results. This 7 days in vivo study was done in comparison with hydrochlorothiazide (a diuretic pharmaceutical substance). The results confirmed exceptional diuretic properties : for the same amount of water ingested, Cacti-Nea™ doubled the urine volume compared to control, while preserving minerals. Moreover, the consumption of Cacti-Nea™ induced a weight gain reduction in rats by almost 20% compared to control. These results will soon be published.

On these basis, Bio Serae Laboratories recently invested on a human clinical study to confirm the weight-management potential of Cacti-Nea™ and to reinforce its scientific background.

Olivier Houalla, Bio Serae's Managing Director says : "Cacti-Nea™ is a very high-potential ingredient. It was developed from Opuntia ficus indica cactus fruit, our field of expertise. We benefit from extra selected high quality raw material organic certified. The new clinical study we conducted on Cacti-Nea™ is one step more in our search for scientific excellence. We indeed strive to offer our clients original natural resources with scientifically supported benefits. The first results look extremely promising."

The first clinical results on Cacti-Nea™ will be exclusively unveiled during the Vitafoods show. The first trends are very promising especially concerning Cacti-Nea's properties to improve body composition and shape.
